The Central Iowa High School College Fair will be held at Valley High School Monday, March 3rd, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. in the Student Commons. We are anticipating approximately 90 colleges and universities will be in attendance. All students are encouraged to attend, as well as parents.

We are in need of volunteers to help set up, clean up, direct people, hand out materials, and answer questions. Students can earn Silver Cord hours or Government hours for volunteering. Workers are needed anytime between the hours of 3:30-8:30 p.m. Sign up with Mrs. Maly in the Counseling Center.

Join us for this FREE non-registration Special Education Transition Fair on Wed., April 23 from 4-8 p.m. Build your understanding of support agencies, Individualized Education Plans (IEP) and the Valley educational community. Breakout sessions will be offered. Regardless of educational level or readiness, you will find helpful informaiton on

- post high school preparedness

All juniors in an Iowa high school or a home-school program are eligible to apply for this award honoring the 31st U.S. President and his accomplishments. Approximately 15 Iowa high school juniors who propose, and then accomplish, projects of their own design will receive $1,000 awards, with three students going on to receive $5,000 scholarships. Café V is part of the Culinary Arts Program at Valley High School. This “bistro café” is located in Room 2429 at the high school where lunch will be served from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. on most Fridays (please see schedule on Café V reservation page). Meals are $8. Take-out meals will also be available.
District staff, families, and community members are invited to enjoy lunch at Café V! Reservation are required and can be made by accessing the CAFE V HOMEPAGE or by calling 633-4122. (You will not receive a confirmation e-mail when you make a reservation.) Bon appétit!

Be part of Valley's auditorium history. Purchase an old or new VHS auditorium seat.
Due to the tight schedule in the demolition and construction of the new auditorium, the sale of the seats will be from 8 a.m. to noon June 1. The cost will be $50 per chair; only checks and cash will be accepted. The chair will have to be picked up June 1. Chairs not sold will be removed by the contractors immediately so that they can start the asbestos abatement.
Chairs may be pre-ordered by sending a check to: VHS Fine Arts Fund, c/o Stacy Hansen, Valley High School, 3650 Woodland Ave., West Des Moines, IA 50265. If you do not make arrangements to pick up your chair June 1, your check will be accepted as a donation. You may purchase as many chairs as you like.

The Board of Education for the West Des Moines Community School District approved tiger and tiger paw logo designs for use throughout the district in an effort create a brand that will instill a sense of pride and unity in the WDMCS. Students who park on the side streets are reminded to take note when police parking bans take effect after a snowfall, as the city will issue tickets or tow away the vehicles . REMINDER: No parking is allowed in Valley lots without a sticker.
All transcript requests must be in writing including a complete address to which the transcript is to be sent. A fee of $5.00 is charged for each transcript sent for graduates of Valley High School. Checks should be made payable to Valley High School and mailed along with the written request to Valley High School, Attn. Registrar, 3650 Woodland Avenue, West Des Moines, IA 50266-2198.
