Please register for the classes before they begin. ACT Prep classes fill up quickly so register early.

The Valley Instructional Coaches have created a blog, Valley Tiger's Eye, that will be used to communicate what they see and do over the course of thew school year. Full Homecoming Schedule

Homecoming T-shirts  will be on sale Sept. 11-12 at Valley for ONLY $6!! Student Government will be selling  black (with green writing) and green (with black writing) t-shirts that say, “Let’s Go Wild!!” (with jungle theme images). Come support our Homecoming charity – YESS (Youth Emergency Services & Shelter)!!

POWDERPUFF FOOTBALL will be TUESDAY, September 16 at 7 p.m. at Valley Stadium. Please contact Ms. DeVries at devriest@wdmcs.org or 633-4326  if you have any questions. .

HOMECOMING PARADE will be Thursday, September 18 at 5:45 p.m. Parade Entry Forms must be returned by Friday, September 12. The parade will start lining up in the parking lot at Valley Southwoods at 4:45 p.m. IMPORTANT: drop off will only be at the 35th street entrance of Valley Southwoods. The parade route will go from VSW to Fuller Road, to Mills Civic and end in the upper west parking lots of the Stadium. Please contact Ms. Harmes at harmesj@wdmcs.org or 633-4221 if you have any questions.

Homecoming BBQ: Join us at the stadium (rain location at VSW cafeteria) following the parade for a BBQ dinner. Cost is $5 and includes hamburger or hotdog, chips, cookie and water. ALL proceeds will be donated to the Homecoming charity, YESS.  Special thanks to Hy-Vee for their food donations. 

HOMECOMING CARNIVAL will be on September 18 at 6:15 p.m.in the lower parking lot of Valley Stadium (rain location at VSW gym). Tickets will be $0.50 for 1 ticket or $2 for 5 tickets. The money will go towards our Homecoming Charity, YESS. Please contact Ms. DeVries at devriest@wdmcs.org or 633-4326 if you have any questions.

Homecoming Dance tickets will be on sale during lunch (11 a.m.-1 p.m.) at Valley September  18-19  for $10. Tickets will be $15 if purchased at the dance.  The dance will be held at Hy-Vee Hall on Saturday, September 20 from 8-11 p.m. Valley High School students please plan to purchase your tickets for a fun-filled night!!

HOMECOMING ASSEMBLY is on Friday, September 19 from 1:50-3:20 p.m. at Valley High School.

Athletic Physicals Due

Athletes in 9th-12th grade planning to participate in football, volleyball, cross country, boys golf and girls swimming this coming school year, all athletic paperwork is due before the beginning of the first practice which is Monday, August 11.  Please turn all paperwork in to Mrs. Wiemers in the Athletic Office.  All athletes must turn in new forms every year. Physicals are good for 13 months. Forms for 9th graders must be turned in at Valley Southwoods.

Tim Miller Named Valley Principal | Perrigo Recommended as Associate Principal

The Valley High School Parent Teacher Organization would like to invite all Valley families to a Meet and Greet with Principal Tim Miller on Sunday, July 27 at 1 p.m. in the media center. Visitors should enter the main doors on Woodland Avenue. The building will also be open for people to walk around and view the new construction. The auditorium will not be available yet, but it is expected to be completed in mid-October. Hope to see you there!

Cafe V
Café V - Open on September 26
Café V is part of the Culinary Arts Program at Valley High School. This “bistro café” is located in Room 2429 at the high school where lunch will be served from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. on most Fridays (please see schedule on Café V reservation page). Meals are $8. Take-out meals will also be available.

District staff, families, and community members are invited to enjoy lunch at Café V! Reservation are required and can be made by accessing the CAFE V HOMEPAGE or by calling 633-4122. (You will not receive a confirmation e-mail when you make a reservation.) Bon appétit!

Valley TigerLogo files for the public to download and use can be found in the Logo Library. Refer to and follow the guidelines stated in the Brand System Official Usage & Style Guide when using all marks. Any entity which wishes to use the logos for profit must comply with our licensing agreement.

The Board of Education for the West Des Moines Community School District approved tiger and tiger paw logo designs for use throughout the district in an effort create a brand that will instill a sense of pride and unity in the WDMCS. The tiger logo is the first official tiger logo the district has had. READ MORE




Students who park on the side streets are reminded to take note when police parking bans take effect after a snowfall, as the city will issue tickets or tow away the vehicles . REMINDER:  No parking is allowed in Valley lots without a sticker. 

All transcript requests must be in writing including a complete address to which the transcript is to be sent. A fee of $5.00 is charged for each transcript sent for graduates of Valley High School. Checks should be made payable to Valley High School and mailed along with the written request to
