Stilwell Announcements, April 17, 2015   Day 1

Parents entering the building need to always check in the office first.

Parents Visiting a Classroom or Teacher

Please talk to an administrator to set a time up to meet with a teacher. Those kind of appointments need to be scheduled.

Parents-Important to Note

If your student is going to be leaving early from school, please send a note with your student and they can come into the office at 7:25 a.m. to get a pass to leave when needed. This helps so we do not have to call into a classroom and disrupt learning time. If your student is coming in LATE, we do not answer phones during that time. Please send a note with them.

Pennies for Patients

Stilwell will be participating in Pennies for Patients again this year. Pennies for Patients supports the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Students will compete against other Tiger Times to be the overall winner of the PENNY WAR. The winning Tiger Time will receive a donut party provided by student council. Pennies count as positive money, and all other coins and dollars take away from the total. So, bring pennies for your own Tiger Time, and bring the rest to bomb the competition. Pennies for Patients begin today and concludes Friday, April 17.

After one week of the Penny War, Stilwell has raised $568.34!  Our leading Tiger Times are Novak with $24.20, Svestka with $8.57, and Wong with $6.62.  Today begins the final week of the Penny War.  Remember, the Tiger Time with the most positive total will win a donut party.  Also remember, all of the money donated will be used to help students with blood cancers.  Don’t forget to watch the video during Tiger Time this week to learn more about this great cause.

Your beliefs don’t make you a better person, your actions do.

boundaryThis year, the West Des Moines Community Schools will study trends in student enrollment and review the location of school boundaries. The last boundary/enrollment study was completed by the district in 2007.

The boundary committee - made up of parents, staff, administrators and community partners - has been charged with sending a recommendation to the school board for its Dec. 8 meeting. Throughout the process you can stay informed through public forums (dates to be announced), emails, the Informaline, social media and on the district website. CLICK HERE FOR MORE
